Parents Anonymous® of South Carolina, Inc
offers free Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Training
Parents Anonymous® of South Carolina is a offering free, comprehensive Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Training for adults at 10 AM on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at North Charleston City Hall in Council Chambers. Pre-registration is required, register by the Monday February 13 by sending an email to donnaxenakis@paofsc.org
Children cannot be expected to protect themselves from child abuse. It is the responsibility of adults to be trained in child abuse awareness and prevention. This comprehensive training will empower you to become proactive and an advocate for children. You will learn about the four major types of child abuse as defined by South Carolina Law: neglect, physical, emotional, and sexual; how to recognize the clues that children give us, the behavior typically shown by perpetrators, and how to make a report to the proper authorities when indicated.
Comments from a recent training for Girl Scouts of Eastern South Carolina’s volunteers in Horry County: “Great, everyone should take.” “I wish every parent was required to take this training.” “An amazing job with this delicate subject matter, thank you.” “This was a great training, an eye-opener.” “I can’t wait to get home and hug my kids!”
For more than 30 years, Parents Anonymous® of South Carolina, Inc. has served thousands of South Carolina’s families, providing support services with evidence-based programs and practices. Parents Anonymous® is the oldest child abuse prevention organization in the United States.
